Sohrab Gollogly, MD

Microscopic and Endoscopic Spine Surgeon

Sohrab Gollogly, MD is a board-certified fellowship trained orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive endoscopic and microscopic spine surgery. He is actively involved in designing new techniques and instrumentation for the endoscopic treatment of herniated discs, spinal stenosis and annular tears.

Dr. Gollogly is one of the original three co-founders of Monterey Spine and Joint and has practiced exclusively in Monterey, California for his entire career. Practicing in the same community for over 20 years has given him a unique insight into the importance of minimally invasive spine surgery, physical therapy, and life long devotion to strength and exercise as requirements for spinal health and longevity.

He completed his undergraduate education in biology at Reed College in Portland, Ore. He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed an internship in general surgery at the University of Utah and his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Utah.

After completing his residency he did two fellowships in advanced spinal surgery.. He was a GICD Fellow in Spine Surgery at Centre Des Massues Department of Orthopedics in Lyon, France and then a Fellow in Pediatric Orthopedics at San Diego Children's Hospital.

For the last 10 years Dr. Gollogly has been focused on outpatient, minimally invasive spine surgery with an emphasis on endoscopic and microscopic spine surgery in the lumbar spine and cervical disc replacement. As one of the most experienced endoscopic spine surgeons on the west coast, he has a very active practice providing patients with procedures with minimal blood loss, short recovery times, and effective solutions for herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and sciatica.

In addition to his work at Monterey Spine & Joint, Dr. Gollogly also performs scientific research and has many publications released including research on spine conditions and treatment methods. He also lends his time and skills volunteering at several surgical organizations.
